My research expertise is in the study of human ingestive behavior and obesity. I have worked on controlled feeding studies assessing influences (e.g. portion size, energy density) on food and energy intake in both adults and children. This research has been recognized by professional societies including the Society for the Study of Ingestive Behavior, The Obesity Society, and the American Society for Nutrition. Citations to selected publications and links to related press coverage are listed below.
I currently work with Dr. Marie-Pierre St-Onge on NIH- and AHA-funded research investigating the effect of sleep restriction on cardiovascular disease risk. I am particularly interested in how prolonged, mild sleep restriction influences food choices, energy balance, and body weight.
