NYP Adult Ethics Committee

The NYP Adult Ethics Committee is a robust service that is charged with teaching ethics, helping to craft hospital policy, and assisting patients and clinicians in resolving complex ethical questions. The team is multi-disciplinary and includes a member of the community. Anyone, including patients and their families, may request an ethics consult. NYP Pediatric Ethics Committee

The vision of the NYP Pediatric Ethics Committee is to promote the highest standards for family-centered care by developing and promoting ethical guidelines through consultation, policy formation, and education, available to patients, families and staff. The multidisciplinary Pediatric Ethics Committee was established to provide a forum for consideration and discussion of the ethical aspects of medical practice, health care delivery, and organizational responsibility. It meets monthly. The Pediatric Ethics Consultation Service serves as an information source and in an advisory capacity, assisting clinicians, patients, and families in resolving complex ethical quandaries.
